yeah the MPGs being affected and strength are my too main concerns (alreeady getting like 15 mpg as is). I mean lets be serious I wont be ramming into crap all the time but I am concerned with the few time I might hit something hard and don't want to worry about having to buy a new bumper. Wish there were more vids or info on people testing aluminum.

    Sick truck BTW ^^

    In need of $$$
I emailed Tyler/Satin this morning to ask about the following:

-weight of bumpers (aluminum vs. steel)
-strength of the hoops (aluminum vs. steel) Wife is not liking 3 hoops..
-strength of hi-lift points on aluminum
-mounting problems (if any) for bumper, IFS skid, or gas skid) on a pre runner.

If you all remember or don't remember my BAMF bolt-on sliders were not completely "bolt-on" because the driveshaft crossmember on the 2x is a little foreword than on the 4x. I don't "think" this IFS skid or bumper should have any problems, but the gas skid may as it bolts to that same crossmember which is screwy on those 2xs...

Satin didn't have all the answers so going to confer with Tyler.. after I get word back, my order should be decided..

Max: Aluminum Bumper, and/or IFS skid/gas skid
Min: Aluminum Bumper (waiting to hear strength of hi-lift points

IFS should bolt up fine, mid skid might have some differences from the trans support. where the support is mounted to the frame is different from 2wd and 4wd, 2wd sitting higher off the ground.

I had issues with mine fitting up.

All you peeps getting a front bumper. Have you decide where you want your license plate to mounted? You can ask them to drill and tap some holes centered with the winch fair lead below. Just a thought. When I got mine I just self tap screws but as for mike he had his drilled and tap. If you already ordered just send Satin an email and let her know.

I just had them drill holes. better to use a nut on the backside as threads on aluminum will get worn out fast

Mike...I didn't request or even think about the license plate holes. Did you mention that to Satin? Wondering if I need to request that in advance or is it a doable thing here on Oahu once we get them??

Mike...can you do some prelim and get some estimates from your friend who does the Powder Coating? Costs: Bumper (Front/Rear), Skids, etc... Would be nice to pre-plan this while we have time and can be ready...
