Anyone can help me install Bilsteins 5100 front and rear? I have a 04 DC 2wd prerunner sr5. I want to level it and since I don't have the TRD shocks, I'd thought I'd upgrade the rear shocks as well. Keeping the stock springs. Will this help produce a slightly better ride?

I'm useless for an install, but I assume your front 5100's are adjustable? You'd probably have to run it up one clip with the stock springs (to level it) which might make it a little stiff. Maybe upgrade to OME coils, I think they're 883's for the first gen? Personally, I had Icon CO's and rear 5100's/Deaver J59's on my '03. it was a buttery smooth ride.

The rear is cake... nothing really hard or exciting. Remove old shock and put in new one. The fronts however, you need to do one of 2 things:
-remove old assembly and take to a shop to have them swap out the springs onto the new 5100s.
-do the LCA method to do (never did the LCA method on a 1st gen, but I'm sure it's the same as the 2nd gens).

Either one, you will need alignment after, with option 2 needing it sooner than later.

I have some new springs coming in the mail on Monday as well. I thought about the LCA method (as I have done that before), but with the longer spring (884 vs 885), I may take the assembly out and have a shop swap the springs.

I gotta get my truck buttoned up first... also, see what the height difference is now between the front and rear (hub to fender). That will give you an idea of how high to set the 5100s at. If you doing the LCA method (free), you can do it multiple times, if you paying a shop, kinda want to do it one and done..

I ordered the adjustable 5100s for the front yesterday. I didn't get the back just yet. I will wait and see how it feels after I get the fronts installed and go frm there. Do you guys recommend a good shop to go to?

If you just want/need to take it somewhere to get it done fast, scottys brake and alignment in Pearl City can do your front shocks.
I've used them before for a couple of things. You could also take off your front assembly and they can swap, or they could do the whole thing.
