    Looking for some advice:

I currently have a 2012 4Runner SR5 that I bought with Extended Warranty. I paid off roughly $15,000 of $35,000. I've added borla muffler, front seat covers, and new offroad rims and tires. Total payments with aftermarket stuff roughly $18,000.

I really want a Tacoma now for my active lifestyle and I don't have kids, so the Tacoma seems to fit me better at this point. Should I just hold off and pay the 4Runner off over the next few years? I'd rather not wait, but am I losing a bunch of money by trading in the 4Runner for a Tacoma? KBB is about $27k - $28k.

Any helpful advice is welcomed :) Mahalos

Buy a small trailer and keep the runner.

The problem is with the beach gear, diving gear, stand up paddleboards, the interior constantly gets dirty. It's getting old cleaning the back every time I go out on adventures in order to upkeep the interior. Figured with a tacoma, I can just spray it down and be done with it.

I'd keep the 4runner. unless you can sell it private party, you won't get what it's worth trading it in.

    if 2016 has a diesel...I'm getting one.

One thing to consider when waiting on a new redesign is the amount of aftermarket modifications that will be available for the new design. One of the benefits of having a design that has been unchanged for several years is that the aftermarket products for that vehicle are widely available.

I know there is a decent amount of people on this forum who like to add their personal touches to their Tacomas, but also a good amount of people that leave everything stock. Waiting a few years to get the redesign is not a bad idea, and changing to a used certified current Tacoma isn't a bad idea either for a good enough deal. The resale is great and if you want to switch out to a brand new Tacoma in a few years it could work in your favor.

Lastly, make sure you get a few quotes from dealerships on what they will give you for your 4Runner. You are only going to get near KBB with a few dealers. You could find you will only get offers $2k-3k below. There are a lot of variables.

In addition to KBB take a look around at 4runners for sale. Subtract a few thousand dollars and that's around what your trade in might be worth.

If you are able to find a buyer for your 4Runner I am selling a practically brand new 2014 TRD Sport Access Cab 4X4.
