Thanks for all the replies. I am going to try out a set of the duratracs. Wish there were more options available. Living in the middle of the pacific really limits the selection unless you want to pay crazy shipping rates.

But at least you live where we vacation, there are a ton of pros and few cons to living in hawaii. IMO

This is true! I just came back from Park City yesterday and although I really wish I had my truck with me, as soon as I got home I was happy to be back.

Cant go wrong with Duratracs for your intended purpose. Ive had mine fir about 30k miles and no complaints except for going thru sand. But nothing airing down cant fix. But just because, my next set ill try the Toyo MT.

I probably would try those too if I could get a discount on those too. How's your wear at 30k?

Haha yeah, the main thing i couldn't live without is lots of trails and different mountains to go on like we have here in Washington, and everything is so expensive.. If those things weren't a factor i'd love to live in Hawaii

Got the duratracs on my truck for the past couple days. I am very pleased with my choice so far. Aggressive looks, rides smooth with a little road noise. We'll see how they do in the sand. Got them off Amazon. Free shipping with prime!

Good choice. I hit 310 miles(without tire size math) on the trip meter before my gas light came on the other day. But I'm running 265/75/16 load C. My Duratracs are getting a bit noisy tho...

Ran 35" Toyo MT's on a 100 series Land Cruiser for a Baja trip a few years back. Not to loud on the highway and did awesome for about 1500 miles of OR work in Baja. For a real MT I liked them a lot. Much better than the BFG MT's (old style) that I have on my Cruiser.

I get 285/75/r16 toyo mts sittin on 16x8 Mickeys on my 01. Absoubtly Love them. Aggressive, never gotten stuck, and super quiet on the road. Although I havn't rode in a trak that get Superswampers... these wont rattle your bolts loose. August marks 2 years and they still get wiskers on them! I drive about 60% road 40% off

I have no experience in sand but I thought open aggressive treads were supposed to suck in it. Dig down instead of float over kinda thing. Am I wrong?

Lots of people like the Hankook ass to mouths for sand.

    looks good.

I have the Toyo M/T's in 255/85/16 and mine are almost bald after 16 months & ~20k miles.

I ran the psi a little high for a few months, but beyond that, i'm not sure if the age of the rubber also attributed to the fast wear...they were made in '08 but not installed until '13

Never got stuck with em though :)

Figure tire size difference, multiply the percent. Bigger tires get more distance per revolution. Mine is 3.xx% so multiply trip meter reading by 1.03xx to get closer to the actual distance traveled.

    275/65/18 Load range C. $237 each.

4WP website showed same size load range E for $257 but I would still have to pay extra to barge them over. Plus I would need to use PA from work just to make the docks and pick them up.
