does installing a cold air intake make a difference in the MPG? Just had a 3" life and 285's installed on my taco and my MPG went down drastically. about 40 miles per 3/4 tank less... wow... and I drive mostly highway... killin' me!!!

Yea bro. You gotta pay to play. Bigger tires create weight. Lifted trucks have more air drag. More weight from both makes your engine work harder, using more fuel. Putting in gearing can bring back some lost mpg, horse power an torque. Air intake and the right exhaust can add or replace horsepower an torque also, and up your mpg that you have lost from the added weight an drag.

Really Whippersnapper this is a Hawaii thread, you hunt down any talk of CAI or Exhaust threads don't you?
I don't mean that in a bad way, you just feel strongly about your cause.

I however feel you modify enough and all the little gains add up to make quite a difference.
