Anyone out there have the work done on the recent recall for the Spiral cable issue? I know that the letter said that Toyota is working on getting parts out to dealers and would update when we could get it done, but I'm coming up for safety check, and my airbag light went on about a week after I got the recall notice. Saw that some dealers supposedly have the correct part to fix, so just wondering if Servco got it in.

Update: Called Servco, and they have no clue as to when they will get parts.

It's the same thing. Toyota calls it a spiral cable. GM calls it a clock spring.

If your light is on, the dealer will replace the cable.
The replacement will be the same one that failed, and will ultimately need to be replaced again.

If the dealer tries to put you off and not do the repair, get Toyota corporate involved.
The recall notice letter CLEARLY states that repairs WILL be done if the existing cable has failed.
Toyota does NOT want us driving around without a functional airbag.
