I had it done a couple years ago myself... Best choice I ever made. I had practically zero pain too.

with the new lasers they have the eye heals 100% in 36 hours. meaning there is no way for the flap to open after a day and a half.

I had this done 6 years ago. I'd do over in a heart beat. Took only about 3 minutes in the chair. Didn't hurt at all and I got to sleep all day.

I had Lasik done about 7 years ago. It took a few minutes per eye and I didn't have any pain after the procedure. I had to drive back to the doctors office the next day for first checkup so your recovery time should go fast. This was one of the best things I ever did.

I had PRK done back at the end of October. Both eyes went from 20/200 w/ astigmatism to better than 20/20 and they're not even completely healed yet.

It was definitely uncomfortable for a few days. Vision was really inconsistent for the first 72hrs and the light sensitivity was pretty bad. Basically just stayed inside on the couch and rested. Pretty bad sensation of something just stuck in your eye and the urge to rub my eyes was the hardest part.

You may be better informed, but I was still under the impression that the flap never fully healed 100%. Biggest reason I went for PRK. It's a much more simple procedure. They take off cells from the top epithelial layer instead of making any sort of cut or incision in your cornea.

This was the weirdest part of the procedure. Otherwise, it was so quick I was out of the chair before I really had a chance to get freaked out. The idea of a laser precisely burning off individual cells while you're simply "trying to hold your eye still as best as possible" seems a little sketchy but it obviously works!

You're vision was good! Hahaha...my contacts are -4.00 in each eye.

I don't mind wearing contacts at all, but it's a bitch constantly making sure that I have saline when I'm staying out all night. Especially when I go camping. I want to get LASIK done, but I can't afford it, and I don't think I qualify to have my insurance cover it.

Yeah when you think about the cost of contacts long term, it really puts the cost of the procedure into perspective. Much cheaper long term, assuming no complications.
