How far off are those usually?

 

How far off are digital calipers?

Not sure. I was using a digital bmi reader thing for a while and it seemed accurate. But "accuracy" is not important when you use the same instrument over and over. The "change" is.

So as long as you use the same exact scale/meter/etc it will have the same degree of error each use, meaning the change is correct.

 

Oh... Well on that it went down from 13 to 10.9... So I'm doing something right I guess?

 

With the electric ones water, what you ate, if you have taken a dump, etc, play factors. I am usually 10% and have had 4-5% swings per day before.

for you guys on here using calipers. 1) what locations are you using and 2) are you having another person do the readings on you.

does that electric bb.com one just have you pinch anywhere and then it calculates your bf% cuz if so thats gona be no where near accurate

 

I used the jackson/pollock with the tri/ab/hip/thigh folds

 

i think this is the best one depending on who's doing the test of course haha

 

i wanna try it with a good metal caliper or one of the digital ones

because the plastic one we used looked like an elementary schooler's protractor, let alone an accurate tool for bf measurement
