    Dude, you need to just eat more calories period......fuck the expensive mass gainers, no need to micro manage. Eat a PB&J before every meal, kill a whole $5 hot and ready pizza, hamburger helper with bulk ground beef, etc (you get the point) just think calories. Get some whey from Costco (6lbs for $40) if you really need it but calories count not expensive protein.

    But you're also talking about dirty bulking.... Not the best way to build clean muscle... fat is to be expected but hot and ready pizzas, hamburger helper... preservatives and way too much trans fat (the only type of fat that is bad for you)

    I think you may have missed my post about starting to make my own mass gainer...I've been using serious mass for 2 years and have put on about 20 lbs...of course, it's not all muscle, but my bodyfat has stayed roughly the same. The same can't be said if I supplement a mass gainer with pizza. I have no problem gaining, as I am 197 lbs, 5'11'' and 12% bf. I'm just trying to gain cheaper, while staying clean...again, that can't be done with pizza. Where your calories come from are just as important as how many you consume. I can eat 3000 calories before breakfast, but I'll also have to go up a pants size. But going back to my previous post about making my own, weight gainer: after my current 12 lb bag of Serious Mass is gone (I buy in bulk:D), I'm going to pick up some whey, oats, honey, and anything else CLEAN I can put in there to up calories, protein, fat, and carbs. Lastly, I think that the worst part of doing a 'dirty bulk' is that you're not getting the necessary macros you need to build muscle. I can eat 5000 grams of protein per day, but without carbs and fat to go along with it, I'm not gonna gain shit. That's why I go for clean eating. I get the amount of carbs, fat, and protein I need to build muscle the most efficient way, all while keeping fat off. Granted, as I also previously stated, I will pig out if I know I'm gonna be tailgaiting all day and not going to have a chance to eat much...dirty calories are better than no calories...

    Wasn't sure your size or age, but when I heard "mass gainer" I think little pip squeak like I used to be. I put on size without supplements and by just picking up a bigger spoon. What's a dirty bulk for some doesn't hold true for a hard gainer until you get older and metabolism slows down.

    I thought about mass gainer at one point, considering I'm skinny as shit. But then I just decided to eat more. A lot more. This past month and a half, I've gained about 10 lbs and some considerable strength!

    Haha yeah, that used to be me a few years ago. I was 140, buying whatever the assholes at GNC told me too. After gaining some knowledge, the only supps I'm on now are protein and the occasional creatine cycle a couple times a year. Now, I do the bigger spoon method, as well as 2 mass gainer shakes per day. I LOVE Serious Mass, but at $50 a bag, 2 shakes a day lasts me 16 days haha. So, I'm about to branch out now and start making my own damn weight gainers!

    There ya go! It took me about a month to figure out my caloric needs...about 3500 calories per day to gain about 3-4 lbs a week. Having classes most of the week, I simply can't eat every 2-3 hrs, so I just drink a mass gainer on the way to and from school. That's an easy 1200 calories haha #collegekidproblems

    Just be sure to keep lifting and be patient.....it'll turn to fat once you age some and/or stop working out!

    Bulk choc whey, bulk unflavored creatine, banana or 2 and PB has always been a fav or mine when in a hurry.

    Coconut milk... 1 cup is 500 calories. But it tastes like buttered toast in the nastiest way (IMO)

    On a side note I bought some serious mass, only do 1 scoop a day as I don't need an extra 1200 calories a day haha. 4,300 should be good from the previous 3,900.
