I've always heard you'll lose weight if you eat after, because your body is in calorie burning mode when you're done working out. Is this true?

You do not want to work out on a full stomach.

    same shit as everyone else
If you take a pre-workout drink they i suggest you eat something high in protein and carbs but less then 250 callories before you work out. Something like granola and yogert or something. If not just eat some peanut butter toast. After you workout drink a thick but lean protein shake. Or just eat a big meal. Either way it'll give you the same result. Just keep it lean before and sugar free cause that shit will mess you up if you get the heart running! Afterwards remember you need protein and carbs to replace all that shit you just burnt off. But again stay way from sugar. Fat is not bad!

Yeah i was always under the assumtion that you want to have something in your stomache so that you have energy throughout your workout and to eat after your workout.

If you do not supply your body with the nutrients and energy after your workout it'll be counter productive. After you workout your body tries to repair its damaged tissues wich become ripped after strenuous exercises. (hence the soreness) for your body to be cappable of this it needs energy and nutrients like protien to repair those torn tissues. If it does not have a sufficient amount of "fuel" to do this it will not be able to repair the damaged tissues adequately enough.

sorry for any miss spelling as I am off headed to the gym haha whOO. leme know if you would like any more info on this process.

that's not true at all, if you don't eat your body will have nothing to burn and will start to feed on your muscles.

if i'm not mistaken; but could be. dont you burn your fat reserves first before muscles? but what you said still shows you'll be losing weight

That is correct. Muscles come as an absolute last resort.

im a mtn bike magazine i subscribe to they said if you road on an empty stomach youd lose weight because your body is burning body fat. if you ate it would burn the food first then the body fat. thats according to them. sounds logical but who knows
