Is it ok to do the same muscle groups every day-like pushups?

Ya you shouldnt hurt anything....but if you have a job such as a furiture mover and something that actively uses the muscle groups then maybe set your mark a little lower.

pushs and stuff is ok to do every day. Major lifts are the ones that need some break time in between

I wouldn't do weight lifting of the same muscle group everyday because lifting weights breaks down the muscles too much, but the pushups situps and all that are something you can do everyday. It's actually really good for your body because you build functional muscle.

I might be in on this as well. I was actually planning to do this but only with push ups and sit ups (for law enforcement pt tests).

I miss doing all those, Fresnos rec center is pretty crappy to be honest. But they just ordered a new olympic platform, and has drop-able weights

I was told you should do pushups maximum every other day, minimum three times weekly. Muscle recovery time. If you are a featherweight you could get away with daily cause there's no weight there.

Well, I'm a bigger guy weighing right around 260 and I do my push ups everyday. Everytime I skip a day I feel like shit. Started off real slow, only doing like 5 sets of 10 or so a day, and now I'm to the point of doing as many as i can each set. Usually between 15 and 20 per set. Also doing jogging for 30 minutes every other day.

Push ups are supplemental stuff to major lifts such as bench. Body weight supplemental lifts (like push ups) are ok to do every day.

I am your size and when I could, I did a 1st set of 50, then 5 sets of 20 with 1 minute breaks-every third day. I also had a hugely physical job when I was working. The OP was right about using caution if your job is physical!

That's true, my job is physical when its busy but when its slow theres nothing to do at all. That's a lot of push ups, 150in a shirt amount of time is real good. I'm trying to get to tht point now.

Thanks Chris-I have a disability now that limits what I can do but I built up pretty good doing those and matching up the other side with 55lb dumbell curls of 4 sets of 20.
By the way each set of those pushups brough me to "fail" which is what you need to build.
