    It's really too easy.

    Chicken, 1/2 jar of salsa.
    Chicken, broth, carrots, celery
    Chicken, broccoli, peppers
    Chicken, chunks of sweet potatoes
    etc......

You can substitute out the chicken for ground beef, pork, etc.....

Pork chops come out nice, and not stringy.
Ground beef comes out like chili.

Pretty much just think of what protein and what vegetables you'd like with it, then toss them in there together with either some sauce or broth, and Yahtzee!!

I was skeptical at first, but it's pretty damn simple. Chicken breast get dry, but I prefer chicken thighs anyway. I smashed three chicken thighs after class, that I tossed in the pot before class today. Then for dinner I had some roast from two day prior that I put in there with carrots, broccoli, and some peppers.

do you have to have liquid for the crockpot to work? or is it like a mini slow cook oven when you leave it dry

I have been off of eating good and meal prepping for a while now but Im getting back on track and ready to commit. Last sunday I prepped my meals for the week.
Grilled chicken breast, grilled turkey burgers, sweet potatos, and green beans and carrots.

I use a lot of garlic and Mrs. Dash for seasoning. I really like the Mrs Dash Chili Lime flavor.

I also have been adding wheat grass powder to my protein shakes.
    http://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Grass...TF8&qid=1386181907&sr=8-1&keywords=wheatgrass

It helps keep more "regular" and has tons of health benefits.

Tonight I will get out the crockpot for some beef stew with veggies and cook up some rice. Its suppose to get damn cold starting tonight so stew soudns pretty good.

Hey fellas, im back, ive been to basic training since i've last posted and i've slightly increased my fitness. Now that im back however, i find myself going out to eat, at fast food places, i eat sushi often(which is quite good) and i bought a juicer but dont juice NEARLY as much as i should.

I think i need some sort of regiment that'll force me to change my ways and get serious about getting in better shape and health overall.

I have a bud in crossfit and i'll be hitting him up as well.

    Thanks for suggestions fellas

sushi isnt really that great unless your only eating sashimi and nigiri. the rolls all have sauces that are nothing but oil/fat and calories because most of them are mayo based. why not trying to start juicing every morning?

Pick a goal and set up steps/incriments and works towards it.

What is your fitness goal? gain or lose weight? or something else?

I was mistaken about sushi then..

I want to juice often but i find myself not knowing what i should make, i always do just fruit...

Well as far as weight, im happy if i gain or lose a couple pounds im right around 162 and im about 5'9 so it's a fair weight for me.

As far as fitness, i just want a better overall level of fitness,to do well on the PT tests(i suck ass at situps and running even though i play soccer often), and be an overall stronger if that makes sense..

Id say it depends on what you get.... most rolls are the "fast food of sushi" but its healthier thana burger and fries... like rich said... watch the sauces... but Ill do sushi once a week at least... love me that shit!

This let us know what you want

soccer is great for your run time but will kill muscle... strengthen the core and upper body. how are your run times (assuming you play soccer you max the run)

For something simple to start out with I would say do the stronglift 5x5 workout. Stick with compound lifts.
Day 1: squats, bench, bent over rows
Day 2: deadlift, shoulder press, and pullups
    http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=118920551

    5 reps of each, for 5 sets = 5x5

Also add in core workouts. Decline weighted situps and planks.
Dont forget running if you're worried about it for your PT test.

You can also lessen the time between sets of lifting to keep your heart rate up.

That's the thing, I run well when I play soccer but I cannot stand running in a circle 8 times on a track for the pt test. It's just super redundant to me.

i agree with kyle i would build the core and upper body (legs too but focus on other 2) and start running sprints for cardio. eventually you'll be able to do quicker pt run times.

fruits with some veggies and nuts.

Ain't that the truth. I dread the PT test just b/c of that. I can max without issue, just hate the circle. I have it pretty good now though. We pretty much get to pick when and where we want to do a pt test. So, I usually just pick some type of out and back or just a two mile straight away. So much easier on the mind.

Hmm, that doesnt sound too bad, i'll have to try it out.

Put all of that in my juicer?

You lucky mofo, we have to run at like 6AM with 100 other ROTC cadets on the same damn track...

As far as my run time, i was running like a 14:30 @ basic(It was a one mile road, down and back so that helped some,) now im running like 15:xx.... It's depressing because i know for a fact that im faster than that, the track does it to me..
