Right around $100 (less than a month of smoking cigs :)) Should last me a few months.

You sound very well versed on this subject. I'm curious as to what research you've done to come to this conclusion. I get that you're entitled to your own opinion, but to me, E-Cigs are MUCH HEALTHIER alternative to smoking cigarettes - hence the reason I quit smoking and started e-cigs.

I share your sentiment about many other common-place things in our society: pharmaceutical drugs, fast food, food additives, alcohol, pesticides, growth hormones, diet supplements, energy drinks, cosmetics, and our dependency on electronics.

Who knows what they will do to our biology/physiology over time. Not me, not you, not the scientists that were paid-off to produce rigged studies. I'm just happy to have not smoked in almost a month...I don't stink, I feel healthier, my lungs are starting to feel better, my G/F likes me more, and I'm saving money...

What habits/vices do you have that we can make unfounded comments and talk shit about?

Oh don't get me started on this ignorant clown. He's banned anyways so I don't really care, but he obviously is ranting without any sort of information on his side.

Propylene glycol has had an unsurpassed reputation for safe use in a wide range of consumer products, including food products, animal feed, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, as well as industrial applications. The food grade version is the only type used in ecigs, not the industrial version that is used in things like antifreeze. Totally different formula.

Vegetable glycerin is a common filler found in so many foods we eat and products we have been putting on and in our bodies for decades. Ever had a birthday cake? The icing had vegetable glycerin in it. Ever had a lollipop or piece of hard candy? There you go.

By the way, nicotine is not listed as a known carcinogen, so don't confuse it with the other crap that is already in a regular cigarette. Us vapers don't ingest carcinogens (I can't vouch for the chinese crap ejuices, I only buy the gourmet stuff made in USA).

The flavorings are all food-grade, as used in candies, baked goods, etc.

So tell me again how this is a nasty habit? It smells good, tastes good, and keeps me from dying. Don't hate what you don't understand. My kids thank me every day that I vape instead of killing myself with cigarettes.

    On a side note...

Industrial grade propylene glycol is an ingredient used to make non-toxic antifreeze and deicing solutions for cars, airplanes, and boats; to make polyester compounds; and as solvent in the paint and plastics industries.

The point above needs a special note, since PG has been vilified in the media for being an ingredient in antifreeze. These reports fail to mention that they are referring to non-toxic antifreeze, giving consumers a false impression. This is a scare tactic used by the media, those who are misinformed and organizations against e-cigarettes.

Ok so I went out on a limb and tried a new wick material for my Russian. I picked up some raw undyed, unbleached cotton chenille yarn. It has 100 yards for $6.50 plus $4.99 shipping from Amazon

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007HB4SWQ

I was due to replace my organic cotton wick today, so I cleaned up my 28awg existing 2.1 ohm coil and put 3 strips of this cotton in as a wick that fit my coil's diameter. When I first wet the wick/coil with a couple drops of new fluid, it didn't seem to want to soak in. Then all of a sudden the surface tension broke and all the juice soaked right in very quickly. I closed it up, filled the RBA, and fired it up. Man, what a clean taste with no boiling or pre-treating whatsoever. I'll report back on how long it lasts or how soon it starts to taste burnt, as well as it's durability after being used for a couple days. I was getting about 3 full days out of one organic cotton ball wick before it started to taste bad or stop wicking good enough.

For the amount I got this and for the cost, I'm pretty thrilled so far. Longevity will be the next test. But, there is NO taste to it at all right out of the bag. Just the taste of your juice.

Here's how much cotton you get from the above post, shown in scale with my VTR. It's a ton.

Not to stir the pot but a buddy of mine brought up a point that I have no answer for. The ingredients used in our juices are all FDA approved or at least they are in a quality juice. But are they approved for vaping? or ingestion? My only solution was that vaping is essentially boiling at a rapid rate to produce a large quantity of vapor so its not breaking down the ingredients just changing states. He's still skeptical about what the long term effects of PG or VG coming into contact with the tissue in your lungs.

So what do you guys say?

I would say it is generally bad to introduce such foreign materials into the lungs by inhaling smoke from a burnt or vaporized source. I do know that from personal experience that vaping is not as harsh on the lungs in the short term, opposed to having a cigarette and coughing up phlegm for days. It's possible that smoking these chemicals could be just as dangerous as cigarettes over the long term or they could have undetermined ill effects on who knows what. Would still rather smoke the vapor instead of the burning tobacco tho.
