Don't start vaping if you have never smoked. Worst. Idea. Ever. Keep your lungs pure, my friends.

    battery: efest 35amp
    Mod: chi you
    Atty: black mutant X
Coil: braided 26g dual parallel .16ohms

i've tried everything, cleaning up connections, adding a micro coil in to the bottom button, will getting a magnet trigger fix this?

Damn dude. I've been vaping since Feb of 2012 (remember because it was my birthday present to myself) and I don't think I've touched $1k.

Started with kGO kit which was like $40 and included 2 batteries. Used that for about a year before getting a Vamo v2 and using that until the chrome finish was all brass colored and it stopped turning on (oh, and $20 for two 18650 batteries and a Nitecore charger). Replaced that with a iTaste SVD which I still use, added 4 more batteries, a 4 battery Nitecore charger.

Learned that cartomizers sucked, especially one good dry hit - uhg, could make me barf. Got in to Kanger clearomizers which just get better and better. Got the newest Genitank last week and it's been heaven all over again. Took me about almost 2 years to kick cigs completely, definitely would have happened quicker if I had better delivery methods (ehm, clearomizers) from the start.

Anyway, if you're the type to go balls to the wall with any hobby, you might spend a lot of money on this. IMO the best starter->long term setup would be a Vamo or iTaste, a good kanger clearomizer and plenty of replacement heads, and juice from Mt Baker Vapor. $100 can get you the above + a few 18650 batts and a charger. I probably vape 5ml a day x 30 days = 150ml a month, which isn't bad in cost. Maybe $35/mo... compared to $30+ a week in cigs.

Somewhere in the mod you have a crappy contact probably causing a decent voltage drop. Try sanding/cleaning all of the contacts (top connector pins where it contacts battery, and bottom of battery where button contact touches negative end of battery). Make sure threads are all super clean. I even took a Dremel with a small wire brush wheel to my threads on a couple of my mods (just lightly) to clean them up and that made a huge difference in a couple mods.

You're also trying to push current through that twisted dual coil setup, and even though it's low resistance it's pushing power through a lot of coil mass. Not an efficient setup at all, and if you're having a voltage drop or contact issue somewhere else in the mod, you're not getting all of the power to the coils anyways. Those batteries are working overtime and that's not a good thing.

Going to a true copper mod with copper contacts will run about the coolest you can get. Or a box mod with all solid copper wiring.

Vosvape makes one that's very similar to mine. They use solid copper wiring as well. They have units up on eBay all the time. They're about $200 a pop, but it saves you all the work of researching the circuitry and waiting for all of the parts to come in, plus having to do the machining.

Why don't you give a copper mod a try? I was running a copper Hades (if you don't mind a 26650 mod) and it hit like a train plus it allows you to use 28mm wide larger drip tanks. That thing always ran cool for me, which also lengthens battery life.

Adam, have you put together a parts list for your multiple 18650 box mod? I need another project like I need a hole in my head, but why not. :D

I haven't yet. I was debating building/selling a few units to fund my kayak shopping ventures, but I haven't found the time to order the parts and crank out a few. If I do decide to sell some, I'm hesitant to put the parts list and build instructions out on the web.

However, with the new box I'm building which will be insane, I may share the plans/parts list for the dual 26650 box with you all soon.

I recorded a quick demo video of the output of my dual 26650 custom mod. Let me upload it to YouTube and I'll post it up in a minute.

Buttons are subjective. Just about any of the metal ones on Amazon will handle the power, but get one that has the dual posts with screws to tighten. Those will fit the 26 gauge copper wire perfectly. I used a rounded 12mm button for my first one, and I'm using a lighted one for future boxes. 12mm was all that would fit in my design though. 16mm just didn't leave me enough room in the box I was using.

I used a different 510 for my first box, but future ones will be with the 28mm version of this:

    http://www.varitube.com/510-Connector--Self-adjusting-Center-Pin--14mm-22mm-285mm_p_141.html

I bought 5 of them and I like them so far. Self adjusting spring loaded center pin, plus they're lower profile so you don't have to countersink them to get a flush fit.

    That's running dual 26650's and you're getting that kind of voltage drop O.O;;

The box itself has 0 voltage drop (My outside calibrated meter shows exactly the same voltage as my internal voltmeter when the tank is off and I press the fire button). You can't avoid a voltage drop when you put resistance (your coils) in the circuit.
