Any double-edge shaver out there

you've tickled my fancy...

 

once you found the right blade for you, buy it in bulk from Amazon...I save $150 a year in blades and shaving cream...the initial cost of the 180 was below $30 shipped

 

I use a '47 Gillette with feather blades. Love using it. I found it gives me less irritation than any of the new stuff with 4+ blades

 

Razor emporium has a lot of refurbished vintage razors. I have been to there shop and they have quite the process. They carry both DE and straight blades.

 

Straight razors make me really admire our grandfathers.

It is 4am, you got 13 kids and another on the way, and you are fixing to head to the coalmine for a 12-hr shift.

And here you are holding a fresh stropped razor to your throat staring at your red-rimmed eyeballs in the mirror.

 

Got some Astra platinum blades to try...I like my Derbys but we'll see how they do for me

 

Old thread but I'm new here... I use a Merkur 180 and a brass Gilette I bought off of Ebay. Prefer feather blades and use Proraso in the tube. Funny story last time I was deployed 2014 before I retired there were a few of us who used safety razors and we were getting people to convert to wet shaving, think we had 15-20 converted by the time our deployment was finished. People started calling it the "Crossfit of Shaving" because we wouldn't shut up about wet shaving lol. Now whenever someone mentions a safety/straight razor to me I "Crossfit of Shaving" runs through my mind.
