My boyfriend and I spend a lot of time outdoors and we live in Nevada where it gets pretty hot :tumbleweed:. http://www.currentresults.com/Weather-Extremes/US/hottest-cities.php

Well, I've had some training in recognizing and treating heat related injuries, so I guess I tend to take it for granted that others have also. My boyfriend and some friends of ours take a trip to the lake this past weekend and I stayed home, well I think it was about 108 degrees out, UV index was high and there are heat warnings in affect. My boyfriend arrives home with one of the friends and says he passed out on the boat and she had to drive him home. So anyway I was a little upset that it happened, because to me it is one of those things that can be prevented.
A lot of people die each year due to heat related illness/injury, so I want to pass on some basic information.
