I got strained my neck this morning.
I wash brushing my teeth and while I was doing so, I dropped something, I guess I turned my head too fast and right when I did that, a pain shot through my neck and its been hurting all day. I think i strained it, but hopefully I didn't pull anything.
Is there anyway I can relieve this pain? I used bengay but it helped only a little bit, should I take some tylenol or something? I can't keep my head straight. Its tilted to the right. :(

Advil works better than Tylenol for muscle strains.

    Cheers.

Try some Tiger balm. Works wonders for stuff like that.

Speaking from a person who is OLD and gets strains & pulls rather frequently..... (laugh) - I always have a huge bottle of ibuprofen and aleve at the house.

Depending on the severity....you can take 2 or 3 ibuprofen (with food) every 4 hours for several days. Ibuprofen won't necessarily kill the pain, but it does help reduce inflamation that causes the pain and helps things heal up faster.

    OR

You can take 1-2 Aleve (with food) every 12 hours for several days for the same purpose.

Take these things with food because they can be harsh on the stomach.
Even the doctors will tell you to take ibuprofen or aleve for WEEKS on end before they'll do any sort of xrays & such.

Good Luck!! Getting older sucks!! As Toby Keith says..." My body says now you can't do this boy, but my pride says OH yes you can"

Glad that the Advil worked. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking meds when necessary!

    Cheers.
