I get PI all the time and this is the best stuff on the planet to deal with it....instant itch relief and it will dry up the rash in 2-3 days.

If you're allergic, or have it really bad, the shot the doc gives you and the steroids are by far the most effective. I usually use rubbing alcohol and the baking soda and water paste. If you can find the 90% Isopropyl alcohol, that stuff works better but stings pretty bad (Most off the shelf is 70%).

Tecnu works, Also the Jewell weed. The doctor is by far the best.

When I was younger my grandpa had me eat a few leaves of it in the spring when it "was the size of a squirrel's ear" I didn't get it that whole summer. I'm too chicken to try it again.

if its really bad go to the Dr for some steroids, and ask for something for itching, i suggest Atarax

as far as home remedies tha backing soda paste is ok, also try putting white vinegar soaks on the areas, it sooths itching

technu is better used before exposure or at least withing a couple hours of it

also i hear good things about Zanfel but i havent used it

also you can itch it, it wont spread, its a myth that the fluid that comes out when you scratch is more poison, its not. itch away

it could spread if its on something like shoes, socks, pants, sheets, pets.... so wash everything

Number one go to a doctor, but right after that if you live near the ocean, go to the beach and roll around in the water and sand, then let the salt water dry.

For me time is the only cure, Calomine lotion, Clorox, oatmeal and Cortizone all seem to "help" with the itch. As the above poster stated, it does not spread from the blisters, but the oil can remain active on clothing and such for well over a year.
