i'm a healthcare provider and my hospital is making us get them or wear the N95s. i've got a preggo wife at home who is also a healthcare provider. we both say fuck the h1n1 vaccine. there's no chance i'm putting this weird shit in my body. i'm in psychiatry too so that mask should scare the shit out of my already paranoid patients...:D. maybe i'm sick but that video was kind of hilarious

Yeah I'm a firefighter and I work in an emergency room and the hospital is the on that said to get them or wear the mask all season so I did it. I had my H1N1 about a week an a half ago and I had no side effects from it. Although the people who siad they did the nasal had bad congestion for about 24 hours.

My wife and I have always gotten the seasonal flu shot....as have my 7 and 2 year old daughters....since they were old enough to get it, that is. And just today both of my children also recieved the H1N1 nasal mist. My wife is 39 and I'm 41 and both healthy. So we'll be the last to get the H1N1 vaccine....if we can get it at all. But we'll get it if we can.

Situations like the young lady in the video are truely 1 in a million. IMO, you have a greater risk is dying from complications from the flu than some sort of risk with the vaccines. According to the CDC, on average, 36,000 people per year die of flu related complications in the U.S. How often do you hear about someone dying as a direct result of the vaccine? Very rarely.

Ultimately it's a personal decision as to whether one gets the shot...and they should not be judged either way.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I'm torn on what to do about it. The thing is that the only reason the media is going nuts about this is because this flu has more affect on children and young adults, age 6-24 years old. I'm 32, and have had shitloads of flus over the years. The rate of people my age dying from it is the same as the regular flu. For young people, its still not that high of a percentage.

My Mom is a teacher and hundreds of kids in her school got it. None of them got seriously ill. The only reason I would consider getting it is because I don't like getting sick period and I might be starting a new job soon.

Then again, when it was out here in Cali last year, I got really sick for 5-6 days. I wonder if I had it then because everyone around me is now sick and it hasn't had an affect on me.

    thats horrible. is it permanent?

still, would you rather take the 1 in a million chance of being like that or risk possibly feeling crappy for a couple weeks?

i have a pretty good immune system. i never get the flu, or strep or anything like that. i'll occasionally get a random cold or a sinus infection and once every year or so a stomach bug that makes me sick for a night (although that could also be food poisoning, hard to tell the difference). but for the most part i very rarely get more than a cough or a runny nose and even that is pretty uncommon
