I just signed up for the garage games my box is hosting. This will be my first competition. Should be fun.

I consider my old lifting routine pretty intense, I also ran 10 miles twice a week. 1 month in and Crossfit is still kicking my ass. I was not prepared at all for the more anaerobic routines.

i am almost a year in and i get my ass kicked every time. the difference now is i can just deal with the pain better.

like you guys i thought i was in good shape i would lift for an hour everyday and then do an hour of cardio. that still did not prepare me for crossfit.

i have been off for most of the last month with back problems. i just got back to my normal routine Monday of this week and i still cant dead lift or put to much heavy weight on my back or over head but other then that i am good to go. after a month off i have lost a bunch of what i gained, i think it will come back quickly. it has to i now of a my first comp to get ready for:eek:

Finally had time to go do a WOD this past Thursday after a month of not being able to workout. I had my ass kicked hard. I have never done so poorly lol.
    2 rounds:
    50 Double unders
    40 sit ups
    30 Wall balls (20lbs)
    20 pull ups
    10 burpees

Finished in around 23 minutes and didn't bother to log this time. The joys of being inactive for a month :(

who is doing the open this year? I just signed up yesterday. Hopefully my back gets back in shape in time, I strained it two weeks ago on a deadlift PR. My form fell apart and instead of letting it down like I should have I pushed through it like an idiot.

I'm hoping the games get back to their roots this year, they've been pretty gay the last two years... Makes me wonder who the fuck is coming up with the workouts.

I wouldn't bet on that happening. Not with people like Dave Castro running the show.

    Castro's a d-bag. Its all about him.
We re-did Open WOD 11.3 today.
    5 minute AMRAP
    Squat Clean 165lbs
    Jerk 165lbs

I got 18 full rounds + a squat clean. My quads are fried. It was my first WOD since the damage my liver obtained this weekend. I was hurting, could have easily gotten a few more rounds, oh well, the weekend was totally worth it.

I'm a little confused on this Castro guy. He claimed he was a SEAL? He doesnt look or act anything like one

Surprisingly enough the guy was a SEAL, so he does get credit for that. He has since become a massive douche nozzle.

I'm sure the guys telling the truth, Crossfit is huge with the teams and if he was full of shit they would have hung him out to dry by now.
