    When our Son was born we were told that it was State law to submit a sample of blood. When I asked why, they said it was in case the baby was abducted it could be used to help trace his whereabouts and verify evidence. I asked if it was for disease prevention and research and the nurse said it was only for initial scanning of health problems. When I asked when the blood would be discarded she said it is kept indefinitely. At that point I was :confused:
