First of all, yes I'm the guy who posted a thread less than a month ago about breaking my thumb. And I'm back again. I'm a walking accident or something, I know.
Anyways, over the last week and a half, I noticed something going on with my right big toe. The bottom of it is white and almost spongy, and is ringed by red. It always appears to be sweating when I look at it- I can see tiny droplets of moisture weeping from it. It stings almost constantly, and is worse when walked/stood on. It is only on the bottom of this toe. The skin is not raised or lumpy at all- if anything, it is sucked in.
I think it is some sort of a blister from work, but my best friend Robert is convinced that I have trench foot or something along that line. I'm skeptical of his idea, but he does have me a bit worried. Has anyone else experienced this or know anything about it? What can I do to treat it? Any information would be greatly appreciated so I can decide if I need to get it checked out or not.

    Regards,
    Fenwick

Good point- didn't know that thread existed. I'll post there.

I just took a bath, actually. xD My feet are never that clean on a regular basis. I wanted to make them a bit less gnarly for the picture so I didn't gross anyone out with all my glorious dirt.

My little toe? It's always been like that- well, since the first time I broke it as a kid. Never thought anything of it.

painful and red would lead me to think inflammation/infection. Tough to tell from the photo. If it is progressively getting worse go get it checked out. You dont need a bacterial infection spreading up your leg. You might end up in the hospital with an intravenous drip.

    Done any exotic travelling lately?

Nothing exotic. I was crawling under a house yesterday at work to inspect truss damage/settling, but this started happening before yesterday.

Always wear socks, if you don't already. It helps prevent fungus, and wash your shoes from time to time too. I have a patch of thick skin in the middle on my foot that is like a calus (spelling?) and it itches like crazy sometimes.....:anonymous:
