The spousal unit purchased a treadmill and I just completed assembly. I wanted to know if I should lube up the belt before her first use. It doesn't say anything about it in the manual but they provided lubricant in the package. Thanks.

Nah - it should be pre-lubed. I didn't lube mine until the belt started getting a little 'sticky' when first turning the unit on and that didn't happen until after a couple years regular use.

Thanks. I found a little blurb on the manufacturers website that the deck comes pre-lubed, as you said, but the deck is bone dry all over. I put some lube on the deck and now it slips. I'm at my max tightening limit so I guess I'll have to wipe some of the lube back off of it. *facepalm*

I might be in the market for a treadmill, sadly. Any suggestions?

Mine is from Vitamaster - sturdy, padded handrails, variable speed control, slope adjustment, digital readout, pulse monitor - but it's not being manufactured any longer.

I've seen some nice looking ones at Sam's Club (Walmart), so that would be a good place to start.

Got mine parked in front of the TV in the bedroom. Only way to go. Punch up something good on the Tivo and 30 minutes can go by pretty fast.

I'm on my second treadmill. The first one burned out the motor after a couple years. I replaced the motor and it lasted a couple more. When that one died I bought another treadmill.
