    Ive been thinking about it and I think I was to possibly open my own brewery with a few other friends at some point in our lives. We have some experience home-brewing but not nearly enough to open a legitimate brewery. So thats why I have come to you guys. Do you know if there are any colleges or schools that offer majors or minors in brewing? Or is there any other courses or things to do to get started? An old teacher of mine owns a local brewery so I think sometime soon Im going to go give him a visit and talk to him about it. But any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

    A buddy of mine took a brewing class at UC Davis. Not sure if that helps you but I know there are courses out there.

    Yes, there are tons of brewing "schools" around the country. most breweries will only hire brew masters that have attended, then you have to apprentice for a while.

    A friend of mine manages a brew shop and just got his "brewing degree". Looking to sign on with Odell Brewery.

    I would just apprentice somewhere. That way, you get paid to learn, rather than paying to learn...
    Check out any Brewery chains... you learn to do things there way, then you can start your own, use your own recipes, and do it the way you want after learning the ropes...my 2 cents
