    Just found this cut on my resi hose. How do I prevent further damage? Should I get a new hose?

    First you need to figure out what caused it so that can be addressed. May have been from something off the road that came up and hit it which is a fluke, and I personally have not seen that happen to date. After that it should be replaced, there is no way to fix it. You can run it but you will risk blowing all the oil out at some point which will be a mess.

    Something looks weird about the coils from this picture also, the gaps in-between each coil are very inconsistent.
