I sent you a lengthy PM but a CV driveshaft is used on the front of our trucks and many others with IFS when you need to be able to steer the wheels. You are talking about the rear drive shaft which is not a "CV"

YGPM again. No, it's not CV from factory, but it *needs to be* if the vehicle is lifted. This is what I'm getting at.

CV Boots? you mean CV joints? Boots go around the joint to protect it from dust, no reason to get new ones unless yours are bad.

I would recommend getting a manual on the truck so you can learn the name of the actual parts. I'm only trying to help so please don't take it the wrong way, it will just help you get your points across better if you do.

I would recommend reading the posts that before telling him what to do..... dont take it the wrong way but it will help you get your points across better

as far as what is being discussed, we had a chat, he wasnt talking about the front half shafts but rather switching to a CV (constant velocity) rear driveshaft, i still dont get the logic but its his money to burn as he feels need be.

Edit: Seems Chris got to it first...yeah, CV driveshaft is also called a double cardan...

><

CV Driveshaft fellas...driveshaft...or propeller shaft as Toyota seems to want to call it. And I'm looking into it to fight vibes after lifting should they appear.

The CV discussion was due to a CV terminology confusion. I think it's best if we just let it go and let Icon have their thread back.

Nighthawk, no offense taken man.

Back to your regularly scheduled thread folks...

I don't recall ever mentioning anything about an axle change...I think there's some mis-quoting going on.

We are almost done with the bracket. Sorry it has taken so long. We had a lot of new products ahead of it, SEMA and now we are moving to a new building. I hope to have them in a couple more weeks. Thanks
