    Hard question to answer.

    I can say this though: If you bother to get a degree, get in a specific field that requires skill...something in engineering, healthcare, chemistry for example, or something technical: electrical, metal fabrication, auto-repair, etc.

    SKILLS matter way more in the job market than PAPER. I've often told people that a degree is equivalent to about 6 months of job experience. If an employer is looking at two candidates, one with a degree in the field but no experience and the other that has already done the job for a year, they'll take the candidate with experience almost every time.

    Better than a degree is internship or apprenticeship - DO the work, then take your degree AND your experience doing the work and you will be able to make a much stronger case for yourself as the best hire - after all, you've done the work already.
