I get what your saying, but that also sound like the saying from a man who hated his job.

And I think you would be surprised about how many people would still work, yes maybe a lot would be lazy assholes, but there is alot of people who enjoy working, like myself. It just would be a job that I enjoy for sure, if money did not matter.

My father actually enjoyed his career. But he was also pragmatic.

My exact point. You'd do something different. Even most who "love" their jobs would do it differently if "money did not matter".

Sorry, I took it wrong, thought you meant that people wouldn't work at all. But hell, I don't see anythign wrong with wanting to like what you do. Why should you go through life miserable?

Because for most of us, what we want to do is not necessarily what we're good at doing. And it's what we're good at doing that generally pays the bills. Doesn't mean we're miserable per se. But we're also not doing what we would do if we didn't have to put food on the table.

Wouldn't know unless you tried though, and I would say someone is miserable, if they hate the job they have.

Well out of my several jobs, I only like 2 of them.

Working the yard at a christmas tree farm and doing off season work. Love that job, great boss, pays cash, under the table, extra for off season work. Been there for about a year and a half. Gives me spending money during the week.

Doing seamless epoxy floors is very labor intensive, but I enjoy that kind of work and it pays the best out of all the job. I only work when my friend's dad needs me to but I've been called on several occasions to work. Get paid for travel per mile if it is through the company and if its a private job I get cash.

Working as a janitor at my high school sucks. I hate the work during the school year, but like the people I work with except my boss. The pay is barely above minimum, but during the summer I can get A LOT of hours. I had about 5 to 6 weeks last summer of 40 hours a week. Definitely helps with all the hours and summer is looking like another 40 hours a week all summer. Been there a year come June.

Customer service representative at a FBO (fixed base operations) for fueling av gas and jetA planes is alright. I'm not liking the place that I work at particularly, because it is not run how a business should be run and will probably go under within a year or two. I did get an offer at the other FBO at the airport and they pay better and get more business so I may look into that. I've been there a year come July.

Going to school next year to be an electrical engineer, but I'm still thinking that I would rather do mechanical.
