I'm starting my internship to (40hrs/week) so I can get my degree.

There are a few other small reasons that I'm leaving earlier than planned (3 weeks earlier), but my internship is the main reason.

Treat it just like your first, give 100%.. At the end of the day thank them for the opportunity no matter how much you hated it. Don't burn bridges, you never know if you may need to cross it again one day. Leave a good taste in their mouth.

Go to work and finish strong. Say thank you to my bosses and tell them I appreciated the opportunity to work. Or you could just call and say I quit and burn the bridge.... Well you wouldn't have to worry about ever getting your old job back if you did that.

If I'm retiring, as little as possible. If I'm moving on, I'll do a little work, but spend most of my time cleanup and loading my tools, and saying goodbye. If I'm being laid-off, probably spend my time starting my job search.

    Growth as in?

I gave my assistant manager my two week notice (a written letter) on April 6th because the head manager wasn't there (he is never there during my shift because I close). The assistant manager, book-keepers, and all my other co-workers knew I was done on the 19th. I got scheduled to work the 20th through the 26th. I was able to talk to the main manager, and he said "I never read your two week notice, I thought your last day was May 7th, so I scheduled you to work next week."

I'm sorry, but If I'm the manager and saw an envelope with my name written on it, I am going to open it and read what is inside. Plus, I had to train a new employee during my last two weeks to take over my position. So the company knew that I was leaving. But the manager "supposedly" didn't know.

Anyway..I finished all of my work like I was supposed to. Just curious as to what others would do

I would use up all my sick leave.

If someone else was leaving, I wouldn't expect nor rely on someone to actually do work.

I'd leave on a good note. Cause you never really know if you'll need to go back.

In your scenario, I would have come in on my time to talk to the manager face to face and not relied on a "go between".
Yes, he should have, and probably did, read what was in the envelope.

I would work.. You know, because its a job..

As a supervisot , it bothers me more then anything when someone is leaving and just half asses stuff. Most of the time I just send them home. Every so often there is someone who works though.

Exactly what I would do as a manager and have done so before..hell I just saved the company a few bucks.

But I would show up and work..of course I'd have to clean my desk and such too

My last day of work when I was a CIO I was piss drunk by 10:30am. The owner of the company made sure my last day at work was a blast. We shut down the company to throw a party. I miss that job.
