Pay checks seem fishy

    Ok, so far this summer my paychecks haven't been lining up with how many hours I have been working. I asked my boss and other co-workers about this "little" issue and they all say that if I work weeks 1 and 2, I get paid for them on week 3. And then on week 5, I get paid for weeks 3, and 4. Basically, I get paid one week after the two weeks I am getting paid for. Easy enough, I already knew this... But from the beginning of the summer things still aren't lining up. From my excel calculations, they are $300 or $400 SHORT!! I'm going to spend a few hours working this out tomorrow.

    So there's my bitching and moaning for the day but 400 bucks could end up being a sweet ass mod if I am right and they do owe me!!

    Does your calculations take into consideration taxes?

    Or on your check stub it should show the pay period. Your calculations may not be lined up with the pay period.

    I do have taxes taken into account, and tips, and overtime. I have no clue what went wrong or on who's side. We shall see...

    Are you hourly or salary?

    Do you punch a time clock?

    I'd assume you're hourly because if you were salary, your paychecks would be almost exactly the same week to week.

    Check-in with your HR or production people and find out 'How many hours' you put in for those weeks. Hopefully they have a system that keeps track of all that and they can tell you...

    Other than that - I'd think your paycheck should have all the deductions listed and they should communicate to you about any deduction changes.
