quit my job

I just quit my job this morning after over a year of working as a warehouse manager at a telecommunications company. My boss tried docking money off my my paycheck (for the second time) for someone working under me messing up. I understand its my responsibility but you cant just take money out of my paycheck for that... anyways now im a little worried about being out of a job. if anyones looking for help in the bay area let me know!

You're what 19? If you're single you're in a better place. Try being married with a mortgage and two little ones to worry about. I not unemployed, just saying.

Well... as a bay area resident out of work myself, you're very shortly going to see just how bad the job market is. Its AWFUL. Better to get used to sending out 100's of resumes. I've been out of work for 2.5 months. Might have something lined up next week, but it took literally 200+ resumes.

I'm just being honest. I've been around awhile and I used to send out maybe 5 resumes per job. It is 360 degrees different now. As in there are many, many people out of work looking for the same jobs.

My advice is to really polish your resume. Reply to posts with enthusiastic, short but sweet cover letters. Don't get discouraged. Apply to as many jobs as you can. Try and hit a number per week, like 20-30 per week if there's that many postings.

I will say it seems like there has been some improvements lately. I'm getting more responses than just a month ago. So maybe you'll have an easier time.

Good luck!

If you're looking for service jobs, you might have better luck. My brother also lives here and he works at Home Depot. He just walked in and they gave him a job. It pays like crap ( $12 an hour) but he can live off of it. That and he gets healthcare, which frankly is important so you can avoid going bankrupt if you get hurt.

Good luck to you. Prolly should have lined something up before just walking out of the old job in this economy. I hope it turns out well for you, though.

yea i probably should have. He told me to come back whenever i wanted (and hed take the money off my next paycheck) but frankly i made that business run, not to sound arrogant but its a very small business and he has all junior college kids like myself working for him and theyre F*** offs without me overseeing them so I feel I can make it workout there worst comes to worste. I would like a change of pace though so Home Depot doesnt sound too bad.
