Are any of those things 4x4 for the case of steep, dirt fire roads? I have been up some pretty challenging fire roads.

I am actually not sure, would like to find out now because we are located in a mostly rural area.

Just found this site, lots of good stuff here. Anyway, I'll add to this thread. I ride a Heavy Rescue in Washington DC, Rescue Squad 1. If I just said Rescue Squad, most guys would guess it's an ambo, but it's not. I've been on RS1 about 8 years now, and with the DCFD 12 or so. We just got a new Pierce Rescue, and I'll try to post a photo. It's NICE, and rides like a dream!

I'm driving this bad boy right now in support of Cancer Care Manitoba and it has been circulating throughout the city of Winnipeg for the month of October. Anybody can come down to the hall, buy pink T-Shirts and sign the Engine with a permanent marker.

That is a really cool engine! How much money have you raised so far? Looks like a whole lot of signatures on that truck.
Is your FD going to auction the truck off or donate it somewhere?

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
    Crash Truck baby.

Not sure how much has been raised, but if I had to guess I would say at the very least $50 000 has been raised. I think last years Pink T-Shirt campaign brought in that much if not more and we ran out of shirts....This year we had many more made. So I'm sure we've made much more than that.

As for the Engine, It is amazing how many signatures there are on it, we were having to get a step ladder out so people could find any space at all to sign it. Now that the Engine has done it's tour of the city it is going to be based out of one hall and will remain there on duty until it is unfit for service and at that point I'm not sure what will happen with it.

Every year a new master shift is issued for our Dept. and adjustments are sometimes made. I am staying in the same house but changed platoons assigned to bounce back and forth between our heavy rescue and a 75 foot quint as a "Senior Man" (Acting Lt. as needed). Our first day together was yesterday and we got used to each other pretty quickly. At about 3 pm we caught a job at a 100 plus year old B&B that actually is next door to my childhood home. On arrival we found heavy brown smoke pushing out the eaves 360 degrees. We were tasked "vent" and went straight to the roof and started cutting holes but had to make a hasty retreat when fire broke through in a number of spots. One of the guys found a couple of vids and here is me at the tip just as we started our water tower.

    If its the same one,

I signed that 2-3 years ago, on the bumper driver side as low as I could go. It'll be about 2-3 inches long. and have a smiley face beside it if its still there.

Edit, doubt its that one the one I signed didn't have any writing or the cross on the doors.

Something tells me this is not the one you signed unless you were in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada during September/October of 2011....it was bare when we got it, plus before it was painted Pink it was a front line pump here in Winnipeg for the last few years...

I know this thread is somewhat dead, but here I go anyways.
FF/Paramedic for a full-time department north of Wichita, KS. We serve about 20K people with both urban and rural responses. Typically spend 1/2 time on the medic unit, and 1/2 on the engine, but since we are a somewhat small department (45 line guys/3 shifts/3 stations) the call somewhat decides what I am on. Our fleet consists of 3 engines, 1 rescue, 1 squad (brush), 1 aerial platform, 1 heavy rescue trailer, 1 haz-mat trailer, 1 flat bottom boat, and 5 ALS units.
