Im just not stupid to argue with a LEO using a dog to keep citizens safe. A criminal-subject running can be put into a very tight situation and could make even worse decisions when he feels he might be caught. He could very well break into a home and put someone at gunpoint.

K-9s are SMART, WAY smarter then i think you even know. They can be trained to detect a multitude of things! They are one of the best resources a police officer can have.

This is ILLEGAL.

Police and their dogs dont get to decide what punishment citizens recieve for violations of the law. Those decisions are made by legislators and citizens.

Running from the police, although offensive to police, doesnt mean police (by proxy of their dogs) get to inflict serious injuries to subjects.

I know many police like to dish out punishment on unindicted and un convicted citizens, but this is unlawful.
Denali Climber seems to have confused the use-of-force continuum with the penal system. For example, it's permissible under Federal law to utilize deadly force to halt the flight of an individual whom the officer has overwhelming evidence to believe has committed a Garner felony...although many departments' use-of-force policies forbid this. Anyway, it's a common mistake, and I'm not going to waste my breath explaining the difference.

Enforcement K-9's are a useful and valuable contribution to the force, both as a deterrent and a non-lethal option in the officer's toolkit.

In other news, IBTL.

sources, personal experiences, conjecture, you read it somewhere, or you are previously disposed to the penal system and have a bone to argue...

what is it besides youth and a hate for authority????

If I was in that crowd, the first thing I would do is STEER clear of the dog, obviously excited from whatever precipitated the event...

As far as the 'nip' goes, I do see a valid reason to berate the policeman who is handling the dog, the dog was not let loose to chase anyone, however.....

This is APPROPRIATE(fixed).

Police and their dogs dont get to decide what punishment citizens recieve for violations of the law (we know this, the court does)FIXED. Those decisions are made by legislators and citizens. (FALSE once again the court does. Legislators CREATE laws) (FIXED)

Running from the police, although offensive to police, doesnt mean police (by proxy of their dogs) get to inflict serious injuries to subjects.
(So the criminal has the right to deny citizens their rights?)

I know many police like to dish out punishment on unindicted and un convicted citizens, but this is unlawful. AND WE KNOW YOU DONT GET OUT OF THE HOUSE

Still you try to trump the law with a smokescreen of false sense of rights and constitutionalism.
Must be nice to hinder police with right n wrong rhetoric while the criminal gets full benefit of the doubt as to how many rights they could theoretically have.

BTW DENIAL isn't spelled Denali. YOu remind me of....

lots of false theories of how you think it is.

The guy in the video should have common sense not to get so close to a police officer with a k-9. Granted the animal should have been trained to have control but its a YouTube video, it doesn't provide accurate stories from each side. That was an isolated incident people make mistakes and so do dogs. I'm sure the animal was dealt with accordingly and the man was treated for his wounds.

A lot of smart people have no common sense, as do idiots....it would be nice to know what precipitated the police action, there seemed to be an awful lot of citizens just standing/milling around...

Appeared to be some sort of protest? I don't know the K-9 training standards in the UK but no K-9 I've had experience with in the US has behaved like that on a leash, nor would the handler abide it. And anyway, if we're debating US constitutional rights, what does a video from the UK have to do with it?
