1997 tacoma standard headlights?

My 1997 tacoma has the old style bulbs. What would be the most cost efective way to get better light output from the headlights. I love the glass bulbs with no plastic lens, but more light would be great. Thanks, Don

 

You don't have bulbs, instead they are called sealed halogen lights. I would get some of these:

Then get some quality H4/9003/HB2 bulbs. Much better light output than sealed halogens you currently have.

Best bang for the buck is the GE halogen high output sealed beams. I had a set on my old 86 pickup. They were around 20 bucks for the pair at walmart.

Huge increase in low beam light output when compared to the sylvania xtravision I had been running before. High beam wasn't much brighter, but was okay.

I eventually went to hella H4 conversions with 80/100 bulbs and custom wiring harness. They cost more like 130 bucks plus the wiring upgrade. Killer high beam output, but the low beams were not that much better than the GEs.

If your primary concern is low beam output, try the GEs first.
