attempting this this afternoon on my '12. Is it easier if I take the bumper off? I'm afraid I won't be able to get it realigned when I put it back on.

It would be easier to take off the bumper, but I didn't have to. I have long arms so I just reached underneath and removed the bolt from behind the bumper area. Removing the lights was the hardest task, all you have to do is turn them to where the turn signal side is facing up and pull straight out. After you remove them they're pretty straight forward from there. I preheated the oven to 315 and left them in there for 10 mins, made it a piece of cake to remove them from the housings. Good luck man.

I removed the bumper on my 2012.. it's very very easy and makes removal/install of the lights a breeze.

your lights look great! good job.

mine came out perfect. i used outdoor waterproof/temp proof clear silicone to go around the seam 'just incase' it didnt melt back together. i figured better safe then sorry. Been done for going on 2 months now and absolutely no moisture inside. perfect.

Relying on the screws to help with the sealing process is probably why you didn't have a lot of success with your '07; all the screws do is hold the assembly together. It sounds like you need to focus more on the sealant.
