So it's just 3 led's no amber paint or paper to remove? awesome! I thought I was going to have to pull a rabbit out of a hat like the HVAC. Still haven't figured that one out. Are there any other led's? security light? Air bag etc.?

Can the color of the hazards be changed as well?

a little a/c color change help

ok, I took my HVAC apart and saw a plastic backing with the amber sandwiched in-between. Can you just use nail polish remover and a q-tip for the 2 a/c buttons or can this be done for all 3 dials as well? That would sure make things easier.

finished putting mine back together, not sure if this is normal but when are you supposed to feel/hear that first click when you turn the first knob (fan knob - lo two middle dials, then hi)? When I took it apart, I was more concentrated on keeping that little red ball where it's supposed to be as well as during reassembly.

What does the clock look like with the amber tint buffed off and just left clear? Is it white then?

Curious about this as well.
My clock is useless during the day.

Guess I could tint the windows, that would help, but a black-on-white display like the odometer would be sweet.

Going to look into this when I replace my HU, hopefully this weekend.

First thing I'm going to do is yank that LED behind the "AIRBAG" text.
It's on all the time and it's just irritating without the "on" or "off" also illuminated.

Also going to see if I can bring the security LED to life.

I noticed that most people who did this mod had 05's-07's. My 08 doesn't have any amber tint on the a/c and recirculate buttons. Thought I'd add this in case someone else with an 08 tries this

If you remove the tint the clock is actually like a mint green. Wish i never touched mine.

Copied your red transparent paper trick and sharpie idea and it came out pretty sweet! My interior lighting is almost complete red and white. Need to get the clock more red.

Magic eraser works perfectly for removing the orange film on the clock if anyone doesn't want to use a dremmel. Takes about 1 min too!
