i kinda f'd up one of my tail lights and need to remove the night shades and re tint so they look decent. i was planning on just wet sanding till they look almost like new, and repainting. i dont want to use ANY solvents so i dont f up the plastic.

do you all think wet sanding is my best bet, or do you have any other suggestions that DONT involve solvents?

i had to take night shade off mine before and used gas and it didnt burn the plastic at all of course use it in moderation but it doesnt burn the lenses. once you start to see the original part of the tail light move on to another part dont sit rubbing one place for 10 minutes

I heard using a pressure washer works to get it off.

I used a random orbital sander with 220 grit paper. Took about 10 minutes per light to get the clear coat and tint off.

I wasn't worried about dulling the plastic because I sanded them before applying the tint.

After I got the tint off I just put a coats of clear on the plastic and wet saned. They looked brand new.
