good choice going with the 85122+'s. i have a set on mine as well. i'm keeping the morimoto 4300k's that came with my kit as a back up. philips bulbs are hands down the best out there!

Looks great. I split the nut on both of mine when I installed them because I was trying to get them good and tight (obviously too tight). Matt said if I would pay shipping $5 he would send me a couple more.

mine didn't split. you must have a kung fu grip! :D at a certain point, i can no longer get a good grip to keep tightening them. oh well, they are on and don't move. however, i did notice that my pass side one doesn't rotate enough counter clockwise like the driver side does. i may have to do some trimming to get a "perfect"

    Thanks!

Why don't you have a reason to do it? Amazing light output without blinding everyone is a great reason!

sounds like you don't need or have a reason for this. as for being such a caring person, i'm glad you don't live anywhere near me. i would just run my highbeams when i see you since you don't care

are you talking about drop in kits or the d2s one above? the projectors offer a very fine tuning ability where you won't offend anyone. i have my set when oncoming traffic passes, it reaches the middle of their doors as the pass. no one is blinded. you can't do that with reflectors, especially with an hid kit

Hey, isn't there a code to get free shipping from TRS? Damn, I'm starting to change my mind from FX-R to these Morimotos. They look so damn easy to install! Errrrrrrr

this is a topic on hidplanet right now. several customers who did an HID retrofit who used the DDM kit ended up melting their shrouds. Several tests are being done, but so far the test results point to the bulbs. aftermarket bulbs don't usually have the same qc as the bigger names(philips, osram, etc) so, this is just a fair warning to those.

and yes, i'm sure people will come in and say "i've been running them for x amount of time with no issues" and thats good for you. but for the people who do experience this and have questions, then this is where to look.

    meltedshroud_020d546c567ea3f4a2b06f086907279045571d4c.jpg

apparently this was not the first time this has happened using a ddm kit. please don't be cheap or this might be you complaining soon
