Hey guys. Im thinking about buying an Avid light bar very soon. However, Im not sure how many lights I want to put on this thing. I was thinking three, but now Im starting to think two. I'm not sure if ill like the way two looks, but three will be more expensive because ill most likely have to buy three individual lights. The truck that got me thinking three is this one:

Most people don't put "fog" lights on those light bars. They put driving lights. I guess if you want to put fogs on there, you could. It would just be kind of useless to have that much light only that far in front of you.

I suggest put two driving lights, and if you want you could always add more assuming you get a bar with 3 light tabs

4 go big or go home.

And you want driving lights, not fogs... That mounting location is too high for a fog pattern to be effective.

I have an avid bar with two lights... I wish I woulda went with three lights. I ordered a pair of KCs and shoulda ordered a individual light a just in case.

I rhino-lined my avid bar; so depending on what kind of paint/covering you put on the bar you could always add another one after the fact. Food for thought: I have my 2 lights equally spaced on the top of the bar so in theory, I could always a third one in the middle.

    Hope this helps.

    1 off-road light, and 2 driving lights...separate controls: 1 for off-road light, and 1 for driving lights.

You could do this or any combo of what you want

Or if you want on the go flexibility you could put some lightforce lights(and I'm sure other have a similar system) and have a couple of filters and switch them around as you need.

** This is what I did, I have clear KCs w/ amber lens covers on them to protect the lenses and for fog.

Where will you be using them? What is it you're trying to see?
Do you need high beam or more type distance?
    Tighter trails/switch back roads?

    For distance on the cheap..
    ProComp has a 8" 130 watt euro for $40.
*I've been using 2 of them for a couple years*
Euro type lights are a combo of driving light spread (though not quite as wide) w/a center equal to your high beams.(distance)
