    Shit storm? lol

Last I checked this is a forum for people to exchange information. If you feel like someone correcting your misinformation are "negative thoughts", well then...that's a shame.

Everyone is free to have their opinions, that doesn't make your opinions correct.

Exchanging info is fine, but when people come onto my build page just to tell me that I'm ignorant and make me sound like I have no clue what I'm talking about, that tends to piss me off. If you and DevL know so much about lighting and would like to inform TW members about the rules and laws and everything else you seem to know, then why don't you make a thread just for that? Don't come onto my build page and clutter it with this kind of info. This thread was built so that people could see what I did and to show other potential builders how I went about doing it and hopefully give them ideas to help with their own retro. Like I said, you and DevL should make a new thread just for informing others on lights and everything you seem to care so much about. There is nothing wrong with giving your opinion or informing others, this just isn't the place to do it.

I didnt actually see anything about not reccomending 50W ballasts in that link you sent me..... and when you look at the 50w ballasts to purchase all it says is that reliability may be comprimised and that you will get more light output..... i dont know that THAT is particularly a downfall. Maybe you can point me to where it says 50w and 6000k are not reccomended.... I may just be retarded and am reading over it.

    link to 50w ballasts on TRFS.com : http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=163

"Most projectors come from the factory with fresnel or cloudy optical lenses. These "detuned" lenses never let the projectors perform to their full potential."....... -RFS

Also, If im not mistaken, there was a quote earlier in this tread stating that the clear lense used in most kits actually reduces performance..... here it is.

"If that blueish cutoff could be completely removed it would be much better and why people use FX-R with a clear lens to get a shaprper and more blue cut off (both purely negative aspects of projector hoods) is beyond me... but to use blue head lights AND go for a bluer and sharper cut off? I have to wonder why." - DevL

interesting isnt it....... so who is right? DevL or RFS.....

"Most projectors come from the factory with fresnel or cloudy optical lenses. These "detuned" lenses never let the projectors perform to their full potential."....... -RFS

anyway, im not going to contribute any more to cluttering this build thread.... Tim, if you want to have my posts removed too just to clean things up, feel free.

I'd love to go the route that TBK244 is going. It looks like a very good / high quality finished product that involves quite a bit of effort for the final result.

I wish I had the expendable time to undertake such a project. I yearn for the type of lighting that it provides but I'd have a hard time explaining to the wife why I spent $600+.

These are definitely the best and brightest lights I've seen yet, they are definitely worth it. If you are willing to do it yourself and use your original housings you can do it for about $300-$400 depending on the parts you want. Well worth it in the end.

I am still in interviews this week, but as soon as I get back I will finish them up and get them out to you. I promise I'm trying to get back there to finish them!!! Lol

He ended up going with the same exact kit I went with. FX-R's with morimoto 50w bulbs and ballasts and Gatling shrouds. They will be awesome. I will have pics of them posted next week.

Tim, i may have to swing by sometime and have you look at my lights.... yours look extremely straight.... mine look good, but they are not perfectly straight.... i may need a set of eyes to tell me that theyre fine or not. Nobody else thinks it looks off, then again they dont know projectors.
