Putting this question to the forum if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Left headlamp bulb (drivers side low beam only) blows out at 2 to 4 month intervals. I have had this problem with my '00, '02, '04 and now the '05. This has happened with stock H4 bulbs and also PIAA, HELLA bulbs 55w 65w. The right headlamp does not experience this at all, so I am wondering if I am getting a power surge when I turn on the headlamps as the main harness goes to the left side first and then the right side.

If I am correct, Toyota and some other car companies use ground as a switching device from low to high on the headlamps. American manufacturers use positive for switching.
