Make sure you put up some pics when it's done!! I vote do the BHLM, leave the bowl chrome and undecided about the gattling shroud.
Or, if you do paint the bowl, I'd use something like gloss so it'll look like black magics and stick out a little from the BHLM surround. Good luck man!

Wow, I'm completely lost as to wtf you're talking about. Gatling shroud? Haha the only thing I understood was BHLM. Is this whole retrofit regarding your headlights? Sorry for the ignorance but I'm quite new at all of this.

Color matched grill w/ grillcraft. BHLM and Morimoto Mini HID's Debadged.
When I did mine, I did the BHLM in flat black, did the bowl in gloss black, and left the shrouds chome. Looks pretty cool, will post pics in a few weeks once I get my new computer for Xmas.

I will warn you though, I can't see a difference between the flat and gloss black once the headlights were reassembled under the lenses.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing when I do my retro. You could always paint the reflector bowl and test fit the chrome shroud in there and see if you like it. If you don't then just paint them both black.

Personally, for my truck I like the look of the chrome reflector. It looks more like an OEM style projector. I have seen several where they painted the reflector black, and it looked good too, but just not the look I was going for.
