I need ballasts and I'm considering ordering from DDM.

I contacted Slim via PM and haven't gotten a response. I had both freaking headlight ballasts go out on me. Worried because they both went out at the same time. In the meantime, I can't drive my truck at night.

    I need ballasts quick!

    No...I'm posting that info here:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/201563-hid-heads-bad-ballasts-maybe-hiss-just-second.html

With no response so I'm doing my own research. I may just purchase new ballasts and started looking at DDM because of the lifetime warranty and price.

Came here to see what others thought about them.

Thanks for the info...I will go to slim's site and see about a price.

Lifetime warranty? They'll find a wa to make it your fault. They did to me!

I didn't order the whole kit. I have Slim kits but went through several of his ballasts as well. My lights are installed clean, I don't off-road, I keep the connections tight and clean and yet my ballasts have still failed.

Your warranty problem was with a bulb that did not work properly. I see you are confident that it was installed correctly but that is still an odd problem.

Ballasts fail. MANY members on here have had it happen. Slim had no problem honoring my warranty during the 1st year but then what - $70+shipping for replacements. I paid $50 shipped at DDM and they have lifetime warranty.

I've been trying to call DDM all day but they never answer their phone. Not making assumptions but it's definitely frustrating.

FWIW...Slim responded to me and I'm working with him.

I just say buy 2 kits for same as 1 kit anywhere else and then you have spares while you try to get warrantied parts replaced on the set that had problem. Side stepping slow to no customer service to a large degree....or spend more money on a "better" kit somewhere else. Seems to be the choices at hand.

That's a great point. Though better sets also fail and you end up paying more in the end.

I may buy a couple cheap ballasts off Amazon and keep those as backups.

Unless I get them working, I'll be driving at night with ONLY my HID fogs. Only 4 miles from work to home but this could be expensive if I'm slapped with a ticket.

Also kinda the reason I stayed with halogen lows & just did HID fogs. I can drive without fogs and get no tickets and go to store, I mean parts box and get another halogen out of it and have lows and gets no ticket.

So after 17 days I received my order. I then found out that they didn't send me all of the parts. Just another reason NOT TO BUY FROM DDM!!!!

My kit has worked great so far...(about 8-9 months now) got there 35w 5k lights.... But I must say that the light output of them isnt the greatest... it actually sucks! my fogs are brighter and better!

    Look good? Yeah!
    Function and performance? SoSo...
