Changing Rear Tail Light Bulbs

How do I change the bulbs (stop, turn signal, back-up) on my 04 Tacoma? I removed the entire unit but it seems like it's just a matter of twisting and removing the old bulbs. Do I have to remove the plastic lens from the housing in order to have access to the bulbs? Thanks for your help.

 

welcome to TW! once u remove the screws take off the entire thing and you should see plugs running into the back of the light housing. no need to take off the plastic lense although wen i took mine off it just kinda detached from the housing lol. just twist the back of the bulb to the right i think and you jus pull it out, then u can jus pull the bulb out and replace.

 

Did you replace the factory tail, stop and turn signal bulbs with bighter bulbs? What brand? Hapy?
