Fog Light Condensation

Ok so it took me like 30min to figure out how to get the fog lights out.

Once I figured it out, it made me feel like a TARD!!


Ok so now they are out and I have read multiple threads.

Do I need to open them up? If so do I use the same method as the lights?

Heat oven to 300 (I think it was 300), turn the oven off, put the fog lights in wait 10 minutes then pull out and separate? Then again to put it back together.

Now if I do that, I should also go ahead and seal around the light with silicone correct?



Or should I just let them dry out and then seal them with some silicone to be safe?

I just did mine, and it is a real PITA. I used a heat gun, IMO I probably would have melted the inner chrome lens before the shell was warm enough to separate in the Oven. Heat gun was easier, but the hard part is separating them. I used a painters 5-in-one knife to wedge between the plastic and lens to scrape away the silicone, and finally they came apart. Yes you will have to buy more weather sealant to put them back together and assure no water leaks inside or condensation forms..
