I ordered the morimoto's... They use H1 bulbs. So yes. The ebay ones use H4 or 7... Can't remember.

F..... MY..... LIFE....

12 hours later... One HALF way done. Not even sure If its going to be straight, even, work! Or anything. I'm using limited tools and supplies in my apt. Went to lowes twice and got a bunch of supplies. Have the morimoto fitted in the housing. It's solid, but Im worried Its not straight and the cutoff will be crooked. Tomorrow I'm going to Install the new ballasts and harness' then test the one i did and see how it is. If all is good.. ill finish it up, then start number two. Hopefully by tomorrow night ill be adjusting and getting them just right.

Good luck. I hope the difficulty is simply not being familiar with the setup, and the second one goes easier for you. Keep us updated.

Thanks man. the difficult part is just trying to make sonething that doesn't fit.. fit. Lol. I'm at the point of no return now too. I cut and used part of the stock mounting plate for the morimoto.. so I have to make It work. Lol I just tested one on the truck. had to connect the harness and ballast.. that was a issue too but got It figured out. I'm just waiting for It to be dark so I can see if the cutoff is straight and even. If so, then Ill start the second one and it will go a lot faster. All the trial and error is done. I only have two concerns.. 1) the cutoffs not being even and straight.. and 2) the new projector didnt fit inside the halo as well as i hoped.. but I did some adjustments.. now Im worried if and when I have to do the final adjustments, it doesn't work.

thanks man. ive been stressing hardcore the past two days.. lol

there were a couple points where i was about to walk away from them. had some headlights ready to order to replace thess. Im still a little worried about the cutoff. it seems like they need to be rotated to the left, or do the projectors kind of fade off like that on the outside?

i just need to clean the lenses (i picked up some of that Meguiars quick wax) i used that and some scratch remover, and the lenses are still F'd up. scratched and foggy looking. then bake them, seal them, and install them. hopefully they hold up.

definitely not an easy project.. it works, but its not pretty looking. lol im hoping the hold up to the heat of baking again, and driving. time will tell.

from the pics they look perfect man. do you have pics of the full cut off from the drivers seat or outside the truck on the drivers side.

the cutoff will slant down towards the ground a bit on a lot of projectors but, nothing really noticeable each one even if they are the same type can have some slight variations.

to me they look nice i would have laid them out the same way. try and get a pic of the full length of the cut off up so we can see the whole thing in action. unless i'm missing something thats the way they are supposed to look.

Highs

test fitting without lenses

left headlight only (concerned that the rotation is off)

before adjusting them inward

after adjusting inward

will get a picture of the full width of lights tomorrow. All these pics are at a wall around 30 feet away and not exactly dead on.

its hard to tell from the pic if your on flat ground or not to see if you need any rotational adjustment. they look ok but, like i said i can't be sure.

the intensity will fade a bit towards the edges of the cutoff. i don't see anything out of the ordinary there either. if i where you make sure they are all even. make sure your on completely flat ground as well parking garages work really well.

do you have a pic of your lenses and whats going on with them? i had thought that you only had some light film on the inside of the lens not actual issues with their clarity.

Well.. lol. They are In the oven as we speak. The lines looked good enough to me.. plus im just tired of messin wih them. Lol. I'm hoping they are straight.. we will see next time I go to my works parking garage. The lenses are scratched and have weird swirls/fogging on the inside. I'll get pics of the second one before I bake it.

oh.

so long as thats on the outside i think they can be restored i have no real experience with doing lens restoration though.

i think it may serve you to actually send those away to a professional to have them restored idk what advice to give you on this man.

i do have a spare set of lenses off of tyc housings they look identical to the stock lens idk if they would work for you or not man but, your welcome to them they are in perfect shape.

i was thinking of having them restored too. atleast get the majority of the scratches removed since the majority of them are on the outside. it would be better than nothing. the look pretty clear, until they hit a certain angle in sunlight and sometimes with the headlights on.. you can see the beam hiiting the scuffs/scratches.

you know.. i may take you up on that. ive been looking up if theres a way to buy JUST the lenses. i was tempted to buy some cheap plain hedlights and take the lenses off. the only thing is that these lenses have two screws holding the black plastic to the lens, then the lens seals into the housing.

i think im gonna get them installed, aimed, and run them a bit to see how i like them.. then maybe try and get them restored.. then new lenses as a last effor because i really dont want to bake them AGAIN. lol

im probably going to change the bulbs to 5k as well. the 4.3k i ordered are a little too yellow for my liking. idk tho. im gonna run them for a bit and see.

thanks for all the input and help man. its much appreciated. sealing them with silicone now, then finishing up the wiring in the truck and installing them. keeping my fingers crossed that they line up ok.
