LED's in Map Light...slight issue/question.

Toolbox Pioneer FH-8000BT HU Blue LED Dash Lights White LED Glove Box Aries Bull Bar Tinted Windows

So I put in some white LED's in my map lights. But when I turn them on w/o the key turned to the aux switch they are very dim and flicker. As soon as I a.) turn the key or
b.) turn my dome light on they are bright as mess!!!

What's going on?

I think that I have read in some other threads that they are underpowered without the key on.
