DDM Kit who has one ?

Whos got a hid kit from ddm ive got another cheap hid kit that cost a ton and they just crapped out so im about to order some ddm's and was wondering what everyone thinks of them

Yes I know a retrofit from trs is the best choice but I dont have the cash right now for the full retro haha

 

I have a few sets. Their customer service is lacking though. Skip the plug and play kits and just save for a retrofit. HID glare sucks

 

had them on my Jeep. never had any problems with them

 

i have them also in 4500k they are very bright i mean REALLY bright. they produce alot of glare. i am saving the money to do a retrofit now so keep that in mind retro fit is top line

 

Yeah I've been talkin to matt at trs and im deff doing retrofit after the next pay check but for now ddms will work

 

i have had ddm's for 2 years about 2 months agao i had a ballast blow out called them and within a week a brand new one sitting at my door

Ive got a 55W 6000k set. Not bad only issue is the drivers side dosent aways turn on the first time, needs to have the headlights switched off then on again and that usually does it. Ive also found them hard to adjust, but that could just be from the reflective housings. Def getting projectors though and i wont go above 5000K

 

My old ones had that problem and a relay fixed it but I think the ballast may have been bad the whole time

 

What exactly is the difference between a regular HID kit and a retrofit?

 

I guess I'm just being stupid, but how would you do this and what would be the reason for it? Sorry for threadjacking...

and the reason why is to get a cut off line like this, my driver side one needs a little more work.

 

^Some dont need that much cutting if any, like the minis, but you wont get the same effect if you did the TSXs or something similar.

My passenger side makes a buzz/hum sound but never had problems with that side....could that be causing my driver side issues?

 

Retro fit is the 100 legal and safe way to go and is much more expensive but deff a better option like stated above a normal hid kit is just bulbs and ballasts the fit into your current housing and uses the refelctive bowl instead of a projector, retro fits can be simple ones that require no cutting or more precise ones that require cutting

 

Mine made a buzz noise through my tweeters in the cab and it could be the problem I would sometime have to turn them on and off to get both to fire but now one of mine are blew so I dunno if it was the ballast the whole time or not
