How to remove spray paint on the tail light after I try tint it?

Like the title said, I try to spray paint to tint the tail light, but i did not like the result, how can I clean those paint off? Please help.

 

wet sand with 600 grit to get most of it. then move on to 1000 then 2000 to smooth it out. after that, hit it with some polishing compound to get the clarity back

 

I use nitro fuel from RC cars. It does a good job but is not as hot as thinner to bite into the polycarb or acrylic lens. Learned about this method at work when we were trying to design a cleaning process to get overspray off a shifter PRNDL that we do.

Just google removing overspray from polycarb and you will get lots of methods.

 

Depends how dark it is, if its extremly dark try rubbing a very small amount of gas on the lights using a soft shop towel and rubbing hard. remove as much as possible. (if you use too much it can crack your plastic) Then wet sand it with 400 using a lot of water and little pressure, then use 600, 800, 2000. to polish it. After polishing with 2000 and making sure there are no scratches use Turtle wax rubbing compound and buff the lights. Then try miguires plastix or other plastic cleaner. This should leave you with a glossy new looking light. If you see scratches sand it down with finer grit. I messed up mine the first time i tried, so i did this gave it another shot and it came out perfect.

 

Bummer, good luck. I found a local bosy shop to do mine. $70.00 and they are perfect. Took one day.

i just did mine 3 times and took it off everytime. just wet sand it with 1000 grit and polish back to shine. simple

 

Try using Denatured Alcohol, lacquer thiner or MEK. (Watch out with the MEK). One of those will remove the over spray.

Just have to watch the amounts, lacquer thiner is pretty strong, you can scar/crack your lights if u use too much. sanding works best. Sprayed custom cabinets for last job, lacquer thinner eats everything.

 

Gasoline on a rag. It actually works awesome!!!
