streetglow h4 90/100 w

Ok just ordered a set. Anyone ever used them? Is the $26.00 spent gonna be worth it?

 

What size fuse should I use with these bulbs?

 

90 or 100 watt i would say around 20 amp 25 amp at the most with good wiring

 

I don't have any experience with those bulbs but, assuming the "90/100W" claims are accurate, I doubt you can run them safely on OEM wiring and in your stock headlight housings. (IIRC, stock bulbs are only about 60W.)

 

I don't think the factory wiring can handle that. If you put them in and the fuse blows, don't upsize the fuse. It is sized to protect the factory wiring and keep the truck from burning down.

There are wiring harnesses made for this purpose. I would pick one up if I were you.

I have had over wattage bulbs on other trucks with glass headlight lenses and metal enclosures. They worked AWESOME. I would try it on my 2006, but I am worried I will melt the plastic housings.

Let us know how your headlight housings hold up if you do it.

I'd also be concerned about glare to oncoming traffic.

 

too many watts for your wiring and the plastic headlight housings. i wouldnt do it

 

Ok thanks for the input guys. I think I am gonna keep my fuse at a low amp just to make sure I DON'T BURN MY TRUCK DOWN. Will keep ya posted.
